GapGig connects students with local paid tasks. This notice describes this pilot website.
What we collect
Gig posters provide contact details and listing information. Applicants provide their name, university email, introduction, availability and consent. We also store submission times, review decisions and email confirmation records.
How it is used
We use these details to review gigs, confirm university inbox access, process applications, send service emails and respond to support requests. Confirming an inbox does not independently prove current enrolment or qualifications.
Who can see it
Approved gig details are public. Employer contact emails and applications are restricted to authorized GapGig admins. After review, an admin may forward your verified application to the employer for that gig. Sample applications are not stored or sent.
Services and email
Hosting and database services process website records. When outgoing email is enabled, Resend processes recipient addresses and email content to deliver confirmations and notifications. Email service providers and hosting may process data outside Canada. We do not sell application details or subscribe submitters to marketing lists.
Security and storage
Admin access is restricted. Confirmation links expire after 30 minutes and can be used once. Spam limits use temporary hashed request identifiers rather than storing raw IP addresses in the application database. Records remain stored during this pilot unless removed by the operator. Contact us to request access, correction or deletion; we may need to confirm your identity before acting.
Analytics and cookies
No external analytics provider is enabled by default. The website has hooks for basic interaction events that exclude application text and email addresses. Sign-in and hosting services may use cookies needed for access. This notice will be updated before adding optional tracking.
Questions or requests
GapGig accounts
When you create an account, we store your verified email, selected account type and profile details. Your dashboard connects gigs and applications made with that email. Profiles are private. Employers only see applications shared by the GapGig team. We use a secure session cookie to keep you signed in for up to 30 days; signing out removes that session. Sign-in links expire after 15 minutes and can be used once. Contact us to request deletion of your account and personal information.
